Last week I shared my breakfast menu plan, today I’ll share the lunch plan. When I don’t have a plan for lunch I have a few carnivorous beasts who prefer the same thing day, after day, after day. One picks quesadillas the other chooses peanut butter and jelly. Boring. I’m trying to vary their diet.
PB & J, pretzels, fruit/veggie
Snacky lunch: crackers, cheese, meat, fruit/veggie
Pasta with Red Sauce
Chicken Nuggets, fruit/veggie (momma has a big green salad w/ chopped nuggets)
Ham & Cheese, Tortilla Chips, fruit/veggie
Leftovers or YOYO (you’re on your own)
The fruit/veggie is whatever we have on hand. I always have home canned peaches, pears, applesauce and pearsauce. Most weeks I buy apples and bananas. Plus, carrots, celery and anything from the garden.
Occasionally we will throw some kind of pizza into the mix and some weeks have more leftovers than others, but I try to keep all the supplies for these lunches always stocked. The big girls generally pack their lunches for school and end up with fun stuff like wraps and sandwiches on buns. I let them choose.
Like breakfast, I’m trying to work out a two week plan. Soup and grilled cheese, tuna sandwiches, bean & cheese burritos, just to name a few. Any other great ideas for lunch menus?
