Turkey and Other Frugal Accomplishments

Divided more lettuce seedlings.  Harvested radishes, spinach and cilantro.

Made Bread.  Reduced the yeast by another 1/2 Tbls.  I  have seen a change in the density of my loaves, they are less holey, but no noticeable change in raise time.  The increased density is welcome so I will continue to reduce the yeast amount.  To date I have reduced the yeast by just over 25%.  The original recipe called for regular Active Dry Yeast I’m using Instant.

Started knitting a washcloth while watching General Conference.

Cooked a big Turkey from the freezer, bought on sale at Thanksgiving time.  We ate a portion for dinner then I chopped the rest of the meat for the freezer, got about 15 cups.  Then, made broth with the bones, got 9 1/2 quarts, that also went in the freezer.  One bird can feed my family at least half a dozen meals.
