My people love pudding. I love pudding. This recipe takes advantage of my White Sauce Mix for a quick, easy, from scratch pudding. The ingredients are basic pantry staples I always have on hand, so no excuse not to whip some up for an after school snack.
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. White Sauce Mix
2 Tbls. cocoa
2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine sugar, mix and cocoa in saucepan. Add milk, stir over medium heat until pudding bubbles. Add vanilla and beat well. Cover and let cool in refrigerator. Makes 4 – 1/2 cup servings.
Omit the cocoa and you have a good vanilla pudding.
Once cool add an extra 1/2 c. milk, beat till smooth and pour into Popsicle molds for awesome fudgesicles.
Add chocolate chips and whipped topping for a yummy dessert.
Once upon a time I thought boxed pudding mixes where the only way to make pudding. Oh I knew people made a cooked variety, but I thought it must have been way complicated with non-standard ingredients. Why else would they make an instant variety? Now I know better. Homemade pudding can be quick and easy.
