Menu Plan: Thursday, February 27th

One thing I have found extremely helpful as I try to stick to my menu plan is keeping the kitchen clean.  If there are dirty dishes piled up, garbage on the counters, and lunch leftovers hanging about when it is time to start making dinner I enter procrastination mode.  I don’t want to face the mess AND make dinner at the same time. Then, we are more likely to go out to dinner or have pancakes…again.

I’m trying to clean up better after lunch.  Dishes cleared and in the dishwasher.  Sink empty.  Counters wiped.  Floor swept. Chairs and stools tucked. Toys and miscellaneous clutter put away. Things don’t always stay like that, I have five kids after all, but when I focus on those things right after lunch and before the afternoon projects and homework craziness start I’ve found the clean-up to start dinner much easier.  Try it and see what you think.

Our plan for meals this week:

Thursday: Chili, Corn Chips, Salad (from the freezer)

Friday: Homemade Pizza, Veggie Tray, Salad

Saturday: Breakfast Burritos, Fruit

Sunday: Grandma’s House

Monday: Chicken Fettucini Alfredo, Caesar Salad, Breadsticks

Tuesday: Chicken and Rice, Green Beans, Artisan Bread

Wednesday: Lentil Tacos, Rice and Beans, Chips and Salsa

MP Thursday

I’m linking to Org Junkies weekly round-up of menu plans. Check them out!

  1. That’s so true and I don’t think I realized it until I read what you said. When my kitchen is messy I HATE making dinner. I will definitely have to try keeping it clean!!
