If you’ve been following my menu plans for any length of time you may have noticed I follow a fairly simple order when planning my meals.
Monday – Pasta
Tuesday – Chicken
Wednesday – Mexican
Thursday – Soup / CrockPot
Friday – Pizza
Saturday – Buns / Breakfast
Sunday – Nice / Grandma’s
Using these categories helps make planning a lot easier. I have a list of several meals for each category (there is some overlap). Then, I pick one for each day that sounds good, works with the weeks schedule, has ingredients on sale, and/or has ingredients we have in stock.
We don’t always stick to the exact day / category. For example we don’t always have Pizza on Friday, sometimes life happens and I’ll move it to Saturday. But having a general idea always helps me throw a weekly plan together very quickly.
Here’s the plan for this week:
Thursday: Stew, Cornbread
Friday: Pizza, Green Salad, Veggie Tray
Saturday: Hamburgers, Oven Fries, Veggie Plate
Sunday: Grandma’s…I’m taking black beans and Garlic Cilantro Lime Rice
Monday: Pizza Pasta, Caesar Salad, Parmesan Bread Bites
Tuesday: Honey Garlic Chicken, Noodle Rice, Steamed Veggies
Wednesday: Lentil Tacos, Rice and Beans, Chips and Salsa (missed from last week)
