Sharing Light

“If you want to give light to others, you have to glow yourself.”
–Thomas S. Monson

I think light could be synonymous with KNOWLEDGE.  We can’t teach someone something we haven’t learned and lived ourselves. When ever I think of this concept I think of the chinese proverb:

“If you give a man a fish you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime.”

Then I add a small bit on the end.

“However, you can’t teach a man to fish if you do not know how to yourself.”

In order to teach, share, help others we need to learn for ourselves first.
